Four, and we would rather use them properly

Fair-faced concrete

Cast against rough-sawn boards. Every mark is the formwork's, not ours.

Oiled oak

Left to darken. Never stained.

Lime plaster

Applied by hand, so it moves with the building.

Blackened steel

For the parts that have to stay thin.

We keep a sample of each on the table, so a client can put a hand on it before it leaves the drawing.
